Registrars
Dr Sam Nashi
Dr Sam Nashi joined Highlands GP in February 2022 to complete his training towards his Fellowship with the RACGP. In 2012, Dr Nashi finished his undergraduate Medical Degree at the University of Leeds in the UK. He also completed a Masters of Anatomy at the University of Birmingham and a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Education at Cardiff University. Dr Nashi has worked extensively for the NHS and in large metro hospital settings.

Dr Joyce Deng
Dr Joyce Yue Yi Deng joined Highlands GP in August 2022 to complete her training towards becoming a Fellow with the RACGP. Originally from Canada, she moved to Australia to finish her studies and graduated from the University of Wollongong’s School of Medicine in 2018. Dr Deng has since worked in rural and metro hospital settings at Tamworth, Gosford and Wyong. During her time at UOW, she lived in the Southern Highlands and her love of bush walking is one of the reasons she returned to the area for her GP training. When Dr Deng isn’t working or studying, she enjoys the creative outlets of painting, photography and learning new languages.

Dr Bernadet Sutanto
Dr Bernadet Sutanto joined Highlands GP as a registrar in February 2022 to commence her first term of her GP training towards her Fellowship with the RACGP. She graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2017 and worked at central Melbourne hospitals before moving to the Southern Highlands. Dr Sutanto is currently in the process of completing a Diploma in obstetrics (DRANZCOG) and the Sydney Child Health program.

Dr Stephanie Wood
Dr Stephanie Wood completed her medical degree at The University of Sydney and undertook her hospital training at Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, where she completed the Sydney Child Health Program. She worked at the Royal Hospital for Women in 2022 where she finished her Extended Skills in Women’s Health and continues to pursue a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology (DRANZCOG).

Dr Christine Ng
Dr Christine Ng has recently moved to the local area but has worked at a number of different locations including rural and regional. She enjoys seeing patients of different ages and has a special interest in women’s health, sexual health, preventative care and chronic diseases.

Dr Andreas Rauch
Dr Andreas Rauch was born in Germany and obtained his medical degree there in 2004. After working in Germany and Switzerland he followed his wife to Australia where he has worked mainly in Emergency Departments and pre-hospital services for the past 16 years.

Medical Students
Our medical students are on placement for 12 months during their third year of studies.
Megan Kelly
Megan is a student from the University of Wollongong’s School of Medicine. Over the next 12 months, she will be involved in all facets of the practice and learning from the highly experienced doctors at Highlands GP.
When Megan isn’t studying, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, sharing good food and coffee.
Nurses
We have a fantastic team of experienced and highly skilled nurses who have a special interest in general practice. They work in partnership with our doctors to provide support and care to our patients and their families. Our nursing team provide key services to support our chronic care patients and we have several nurse lead clinics including wound care and INR management.
In addition, our nursing team play a key role to work with local residential aged care facilities to facilitate communication and patient care.

Alicia Mah
Alicia Mah is a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner and has been working at Highlands General Practice since 2011. Alicia worked locally at the Southern Highlands Private Hospital and general practice prior to joining Highlands GP. Alicia is available to take appointments.

Reception
Our reception team are the face of Highlands General Practice and as the first point of contact for our patients provide a warm and friendly welcome to the practice. The wonderful members of our reception team come from a range of industries and roles but the key skills and attributes they all have in common are the ability to listen, empathise, keep calm, focus on finding a solution support our patients and work as part of busy team.
